Dextrose
What is dextrose?
Dextrose (or dex for short) is a brewing sugar. Also referred to as corn starch or glucose, it’s one of the most common brewing sugars and the preferred fermentation sugar for brewing barons.
Dextrose dissolves more quickly than white sugar and is 100% fermentable. During the brewing process, the dextrose (or sugar) is fermented or ‘eaten’ by the yeast to make alcohol. Dextrose also enhances the flavour of your beer and adds body, but not sweetness.
Basically, adding dextrose to your beer (either on its own or in other brew enhancers) will result in beer tasting home brew.
Buy it on its own or find it in one of our extract recipe kits.
